Dealing With Medical Council Complaints.
No doctor wants to be the subject of a complaint to the Medical Council, but it can happen. We will look at the importance of indemnity cover; the importance of good advice and guidance about the most important steps in the process: the first response to any complaint.
Simon Mills is a barrister and former doctor. He qualified in medicine from TCD and in law from UCD. He also holds a Masters Degree in Medical Ethics from Imperial College London.
His legal practice predominantly involves medical on medical law: professional negligence, coroners cases and professional regulatory matters involving the Medical Council, the pharmaceutical society and similar bodies.
He is the author of Clinical Practice and the Law (3rd edition due in late 2016) and lead author of Disciplinary Procedures in the Statutory Professions (2011).
